The Witcher 3: 10 Best Secret Areas You Need To Visit
1. The Trial Of Grasses
Being a witcher means having heightened senses and reflexes alongside an encyclopaedic knowledge of potions and monsters. As far as jobs go in this fictional world, being a witcher doesn’t sound too bad.
But being able to fight monsters come at a terrible cost, and players will be able to gain an insight into the sadistic process of becoming a witcher hidden within a cave at Kaer Morhen.
Known as The Trial Of Grasses, the actual process of transforming young boys into monster hunters is a mysterious part of the series’ lore.
The process itself involves strapping the witcher-in-training to a table while various potions and mutagens are pumped into their body. We get a glimpse of how torturous the procedure is during the quest Ugly Baby, but there’s more of the Trial’s grizzly history to be uncovered.
From Kaer Morhen, travel up the road leading northwest and Geralt will eventually come to an unmarked cave entrance. Inside the abandoned site, alongside an infestation of monsters, are the remnants of equipment used in the Trial and journal entries detailing some of the candidates who faced the ordeal.
Understandably, Geralt isn’t too thrilled to find this place.
