One of the many aspects about The Witcher 3 which has made it one of the finest RPGs in recent years is the sheer extent in which player choice has real consequences on how the narrative unfolds.

While this allows for more immersive storytelling, it does mean that it’s possible to miss out on whole quests because of one seemingly inconsequential dialogue option. Such is the case when it comes to unlocking Burlap Is The New Stripe, one of the endings in Blood And Wine where you get to spend some time with Geralt in jail.

To meet the conditions to start this quest you’ll first need to agree to help Syanna during the quest The Night Of Long Fans, which will start Beyond Hill And Dale… And here’s where you need to be careful. Upon arriving in the fairy-tale world this quest takes you to, you cannot retrieve the white ribbon, meaning you must not, whatever you do, talk to the Little Flint Girl.

Of course, it’s likely most players will talk to this character on their first playthrough since they'd be unaware of how much this interaction will impact the ending.
