The Witcher 3: 10 Hardest Boss Battles You MUST Find

6. The Woodland Spirit

Witcher 3 Leshen
CD Projekt RED

In the wilds of Skellige there's a contract. A contract so keyboard-smashingly frustrating you'll soon be typing out your emails with a broken letter N.

The Woodland spirit resides in Fayrlund, as part of the "In the Heart of the Woods" quest.

Interestingly enough, as part of the contract, you can choose to opt out of fighting the beast altogether by agreeing to the village elder's demands.

If you're confident (stupid) enough to pursue it, you'll soon come face to face with the spirit; a powerful, ancient Leshen, with strong melee attacks and an incredibly annoying ranged ability to trap you in roots. He also shows up with a few friends in tow, just to make the fight extra difficult. Oh, and he can teleport too, for some reason.

Igni's your best option here, as well as any other incendiaries and runestones you may have picked up.

If you manage to survive, the quest then gives you a short, sharp lesson on how killing monsters isn't as always as simple as it looks, and like with Niellen, there isn't really a right way to do this quest. If you do choose to kill the spirit though, you'll get an achievement. So screw the moral path and go pick up that sweet, sweet gamer score.
