The Witcher 3: 10 Hardest Boss Battles You MUST Find

5. The Hym

Witcher 3 Leshen
CD Projekt RED

The Hym is a straight up horror movie boss fight. It's also, like Olgierd, very hard to initiate if you don't follow the right path. In fact, it's easier to defeat the Hym without fighting it than it is to engage in the Witcher's path.

While you'd be forgiven for wanting to take the easier, less stressful path of tricking the Hym in the quest "Possession," actually fighting the Hym is a unique experience hidden away in the game. You also don't have to be guilt tripped into murdering a baby to start it, either, which is always a plus.

Hyms are one of the most dangerous demons in the Witcher universe, and thankfully this is the only time you'll have to fight one, so its worth battling just for bragging rights, really. And again it comes with a great combat theme that's unique to this encounter.

One of the most dangerous aspects of the Hym fight is the fact that it can sap the life from Geralt with only the merest of touches, so you'll want to constantly be casting Quen and mashing that roll button until Carpal Tunnel syndrome sets in.

That was a joke. Please don't actually do that.
