The Witcher 3: 10 Hardest Boss Battles You MUST Find
2. The Skellige Archgriffin
While not part of any particular contract or quest, the Archgriffin that's hanging around the northern islands of Skellige is one of the highest level fights out there, coming in at a whopping level 48.
If you want the title of supreme monster slayer, then plucking this oversized demon chicken should be added onto your to do list ASAP.
Even in the endgame, this fight is incredibly hard, owing to the range of attacks at the Archgriffin's disposal. It spends a lot of time in the air out of your reach, before dive-bombing in kamikaze attacks capable of one shotting even the most heavily armoured Witcher. And just to make certain you don't ever relax your grip on your controller, Archgriffins also spit acid every now and again.
This fight is worth seeking out, though, because the Archgriffin apparently isn't flying around Skellige to see the sights. It's guarding a swathe of loot valuable enough to give even Vimme the banker a stroke. But hey, with a fight this hard, the satisfaction of victory is its own reward.
Alright, a new new sword definitely doesn't hurt, either.
