The Witcher 3: 10 Rare Weapons You Totally Missed
3. Longclaw
Unless the last decade has passed you by, you'll probably recognise the name Longclaw from the phenomenally popular Game of Thrones, whether that be in television or literary form.
Longclaw can be found in three distinct and rare forms in the Witcher 3: Common, Crafted and Relic.
By far the rarest is the relic version, the highest class of weapon in the game.
The sword can be found during the quest In Wolf's Clothing, though this isn't a prerequisite; you can find it without doing the quest.
The diagram can be found in a chest behind a locked door on Freya's Island, in eastern Skellige. The key for the locked door is easy to miss, and chances are most players will have left it locked on their first few playthroughs, if they noticed it at all.
The key to the door can be found behind a none too obvious switch puzzle, which requires Geralt to pull two switches in the correct sequence in order to raise a barrier on a river, which will allow him to dive in and collect the key.
Sound like a hassle? Don't skimp on it. As well as the cool name, Longclaw is one of the best steel swords that money definitely can't buy.
