The Witcher 3: 12 Crucial Tips & Tricks The Game Doesn't Tell You

4. Places Of Power Will Give You Ability Points

After quite a lengthy opening section you're eventually let loose to explore the world, with only the overarching questline of tracking down Ciri to worry about. It's here you'll have the crushing realisation you're horrendously under-levelled for many of the most basic encounters, with a simple pack of bandits providing a swift trip to the minute-long loading screen - but fear not, there are easy places to grab some agility points to buff your more basic attacks. Although these Places of Power aren't marked on your map individually, simply seek out the question marks around the centre of Velen and you'll uncover seven statues that, went prayed at, give you one point each. You'll still have to level up the requisite slot to allow for something like a strong attack perk to be slotted in, but it does mean you'll be able to buff it up to its maximum level far faster. Just watch out for the creatures defending some of these statues - not all of them are easily taken down.
