The Witcher 3: 20 Characters Ranked From Worst To Best
19. Triss Merigold
As a returning friend of the White Wolf, Triss has gathered herself a strong fan following over her time in the series. Sadly, in this third instalment of the trilogy, Triss does little more than prove how unessential and uninspiring she really is as both a character and love interest.
Taking something of a backseat to Yennefer, Triss plays perhaps her smallest role in the series so far. What's most damning about this fact, of course, is that her relative obscurity is never a bad thing. She's never a character worth missing when she's not there.
Triss does remain a romance option, but the scenes and sequences that lead into this are silly at best. Triss and Geralt's drunken flirting is cringeworthy, and their exchanges offer none of the same gravitas as those shared by the witcher and Yen. In fact, Geralt's potential courtship of Keira Metz is even more entertaining than his time with Triss.
She may be a fan favourite, but The Witcher 3 proves once and for all that Yennefer is by far the better choice.
