12. Zoltan Chivay

Making a return as a series regular from the very first game of the series, the dwarf Zoltan Chivay is on top form once again in The Witcher 3. From the very first moments when we see him tossing vagrants from Dandelion's tavern, we know exactly what we're going to get from the spiky warrior.

Honest, earnest and loyal to a fault, Zoltan is the kind of long-serving friend that an adventurer like Geralt is forced to rely on. Zoltan is always spoiling for a good fight, and takes such great pleasure in standing on the side of good whenever the opportunity arises.

Granted he may be a very stereotypical RPG dwarf, but he's so entertaining and so good at this that it's hardly disappointing we find him in such a familiar role.
