The Witcher 3: 5 Best Moments
1. Fighting The Griffin
The very first boss battle in the game, and what an introduction.
Up until this point you've been acting as a glorified, silver-haired errand boy and, while it's a thoroughly enjoyable experience, it lacks the scale and grandeur expected of someone with Geralt's hard-earned reputation. Right up until the Royal Griffin sweeps it's monstrous talons toward you, of course.
The majestic battle that ensues is the perfect introduction for the game's core-mechanics as you're forced to skewer the beast from the sky with your newly acquired crossbow, before using each and every trick up your sleeve to pierce the beast's imposing health bar.
You'll dodge, weave, strike and fail until you finally learn how unforgiving this game can be; and you'll enjoy every moment of it too. It truly is a perfectly balanced boss battle, and it is so epic and enjoyable it sucks you into the game straight away.
