2. The Botchling Mission
*Spoilers* One of the unmatched strengths of 'The Witcher 3' comes in the form of the stories that inhabit your quest lines throughout the game. Particular attention has been taken to ensure that each mission feels original and the stories they weave demand an emotional investment. No mission better represents these values, or stands out in fans of the games mind, than 'Family Matters'.
Up until this point, the Bloody Baron has been a nuisance sat in the way of Geralts quest to find Ciri, but with the hunt for the Barons missing wife and child comes one of the greatest emotional arcs in any game. The Baron's drunken abuse have apparently resulted in the loss of his unborn daughter, which now carries a curse and wanders the darkness as a Botchling.
Despite the creature's hideous visage; you can't help but feel for her. The confrontation with the Baron once the truth has been revealed and the choices you make through this mission just seem to have such emotional weight.
You feel for every character involved and it makes this mission a truly special piece of video game history. I'm not crying, you are...
