The Witcher Characters: Books Vs. Games Vs. Netflix Show
4. Calanthe
Due to the games being set many decades after Calanthe's death, the only depiction of her is in Gwent. Here, the character is far more elderly than her Netflix counterpart. Her lack of armour can be attributed to the fact that the books feature a far less progressive society than the show; so Calanthe's written fierceness is displayed in her character, while her on-screen fierceness comes from her ability to wield a sword.
Speaking of the books, in them she seems to share the same hair as Pavetta and Ciri ("ash-grey"), though it is not made clear whether this is because of her age or not. The books' Calanthe is, similarly to her Gwent card, bereft of armour.
