No matter how much you dress it up, no matter how many times you hear someone argue the point, no matter how many articles are written to counter act it; the roots of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1 & 2 lie at the very heart of this game. Most people are for some reason seeing this as a criticism, mainly because everyone seems to be forgetting how perfectly weighted the multi-player experiences in those games actually were. Having said that however, and no matter how many similarities you may spot (whether it be the head shot icon being almost identical or the map loading screen similarities) you really have to get that idea out of your head to enjoy Titanfall. It borrows aspects from the golden age of Call of Duty and countless mechanics of other great games and creates something that is both fresh and familiar at the same time. The quicker you understand that this isn't just 'COD with Mechs' the quicker you will learn to appreciate the completely perfectly weighted combat at the heart of this incredibly good and, dare it be said, totally original FPS. It won't come in the first hour of play, nor will it strike you immediately by looking, but the more you play and appreciate the craft that went into this game the more you will understand the realisation of why the hype is justified. Even if you can't physically see it just by looking at gameplay, you will understand the more time you invest. The faster you understand that this is a different kind of warfare, the faster you will increase your skill and (more importantly) your enjoyment of Titanfall.
