Titanfall 2: 10 Key Things It Needs To Get Right

1. Remain As Balanced As The Original

Alright, here's where things could get very complicated. Titanfall was one of the most balanced FPS multiplayer games to come out in a long time. You could argue it was because of the lack of content like gun choice, Titan choice etc. But there was really nothing in Titanfall that felt like it was overpowered. You could use any gun, any loadout, and feel like you stood a chance.

Titans, while big and intimidating, were still able to be taken down with a little bit of effort by pilots.

Nothing is worse than an overpowered gun in a multiplayer game - just remember the dual model shotguns in Modern Warfare 2, or when the Vex Mythoclast decimated every crucible match in Destiny.

There are plenty more examples, but Titanfall will not be any of them. One of the best parts about playing Titanfall was knowing there was not a weapon out there that outclassed the one you were running. Yeah the Smart Pistol seems overpowered, but someone using it could be run down with an assault rifle no problem. Titanfall 2 must add new guns, new abilities, new Titans, but at the same time make sure that none of these are too powerful.

It's definitely a tall order, but making sure they all are in check by one another will make the multiplayer fun and not frustrating. If Titanfall 2 can remain as balanced as the first while still holding true to all the other things previously discussed, it would blow the first one away.
