Titanfall 2 Review - 6 Ups & 5 Downs

5. The Campaign Is One Of The Year's Best

Though it's too short and there's not enough Titan carnage, TF2 still touts one of the best and most imaginative single-player campaigns, FPS or not, of the year.

Following a fairly familiar beginning, the game hits its stride after an hour-or-so, serving up deliciously slick combat, traversal and surprisingly sharp dialogue.

The plot is still fairly down-the-line, but with legitimate classic levels such as Effect and Cause (which makes incredibly innovative use of a time travel mechanic), it's hard not to get swept up in the stylish insanity of it all.

It makes mince-meat out of Battlefield 1's solid War Stories campaign, and it'd be a genuine shock if Infinite Warfare's got anywhere close to this.
