TMNT: Mutants In Manhattan - 10 Things Fans Are Going To Love

9. The Turtles' Special Moves

Anyone who's at least vaguely familiar with Master Splinter's four wayward ninja sons will know that they all have their own distinct personalities, which in turn translate to respective fighting styles. Raph is brash and aggressive (as is his move-set), Leo slices with precision as the team's leader, Mikey 'chucks' his way to victory in an unpredictable barrage of acrobatic fighting styles, and Don utilises a distinctly tech-inspired approach to deal with confrontations. It's part of what has made the Turtles so appealing since their inception, and it's an element that hasn't been lost at all in Platinum's stab at the license.

On top of some fantastically satisfying co-op moves, the turtles also have their own respective special abilities. Donnie can summon a barrage of mini UFOs to fire volleys of lasers at unsuspecting opponents, and every brother has an unlimited supply of shuriken to lob at ninjas and bosses alike. It helps make each character feel unique and subsequently helps differentiate each player's experience depending on which turtle they get their hands on, rather than just offering simple cosmetic changes based on your character of choice.

Not that it will stop arguments over who gets to play as who, however. Dibs on Raph, every time.
