Tomb Raider: Ranking Every Game From Worst To Best
7. Rise Of The Tomb Raider
While its timed exclusivity with Xbox left many people frustrated they’d have to wait almost a year to play on PS4, Rise was well worth the wait.
Picking up where her 2013 reboot left off, Lara ventures out to Siberia to uncover the secrets of immortality and the lost city of Kitezh, her experiences on the island of Yamatai are moved aside, and she must prove that she and her long deceased father are not insane.
This all leads to the introduction of the main villain of the series, the paramilitary organization known as “Trinity”. These guys who, with a warped sense of religious ideology, also seek the answer to immortality to make their army unstoppable.
On top of that intriguing premise, the graphics are a sight to behold. You can practically count the snowflakes on Lara’s face and the stitches in her clothing. With less quick-time events, greater customization for Lara’s outfits and weapons, as well as a greater sense of adventure over survival, this was very much a worthy successor to the game that maintained why the franchise should be on the map.
