In one of the rarer instances in which nostalgia and power are wielded together to expand on what came before, they’ve both equally contributed to create a challenger for the best video game remake of all time. Vicarious Visions doesn’t seem capable of putting out a bad one, and they really brought their A-game here.

After already covering the influential THPS and its legendary sequel earlier, this entry should not call for a collective gasp. Based on sales figures and review scores alone - which are the highest the series has seen since Underground - it took the accolade of quickest selling game in the series.

This time around, the original games' mechanics have been perfected. A combination of the best levels from the first two titles with all the tricks and manoeuvres from later games gives two bonafide classics a passionate reimagining.

If only the game’s short length wasn’t subjugating the experience, it would’ve been at least number two.
