If THPS was referred to as the ground zero of the franchise, then THPS 2 blew the franchise straight into the stratosphere and catapulted it straight to the top of the zeitgeist in the year 2000. No other game could hold a candle to the second Pro Skater title, and even though it released after the PlayStation 2 had already appeared in some territories, not even that could dethrone it from its perch.

Everything that fans loved about the first game was here, accounted for and multiplied by a thousand. The grandiose scope for the time was nothing short of impressive. Not only did it increase the roster, it gave birth to the modes and techniques that are now an irrevocable mainstay of the games.

Create a Park, create a skater, double the amount of goals, the implementation of lip tricks and stance switching, and the much coveted guest characters. It’s safe to say that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 brought innovation to the table in abundance.

Contrary to what one may expect with it debuting on the original PlayStation; the graphics have aged better than a honey bees output. It’s just that there’s a much better way to play it in the modern day...
