15. Need 4 Speed: Underground
This game was the perfect combination of realism and arcade, giving you great graphics and solid gameplay. Its on my list mainly for its drag racing mode, which, in the era before online multiplayer, was one of the few modes that allowed you to play against your friends without screen cheating being an issue. All that mattered was how well you shifted and when you hit the NOS. Get perfect shifts and youre golden, but easier said than done.
14. Battlefield 2: Modern Combat
Like BLACK, Battlefield 2 emerged at a time when Nazi Germany seemed to be the only enemy anyone wanted to shoot at. It offered, for the first time, a fantastic multiplayer experience on a console platform, and was generally an all-round solid game. Its on my list, however, mainly for creating the original concept of Spec Ops, which were challenges with rewards based on performance. Especially groundbreaking was the hotswap feature, which allowed you basically to be an agent from the Matrix and jump into anyones body at any time, given you had line of sight. Its kind of fun to be in control of every single piece on the chess board, and thats the power hotswap gave to us. Great shot, center mass. . .
