8 Secret Video Game Endings You Needed A Guide For
2. Perfect Ending - Final Fantasy X-2
This list would simply be incomplete without bringing up Final Fantasy X-2 and its damn, dirty Perfect Ending, which requires players to achieve 100% completion and is basically impossible to pull off without some assistance.
In each chapter you need to perform specific actions without which 100% is impossible. This includes fresh nonsense like speaking with a certain Moogle, resting in your cabin, and viewing Treasure Spheres at specific times, while beating all side quests and mini-games and unlocking everything that can possibly be unlocked.
It's so punishingly nebulous as to feel like Square Enix chastising their own customers - or more likely, trying to shift some of those strategy guides.
Even if you have a guide, though, it's incredibly easy to gloss over objectives at certain times and end up locked out of the Perfect Ending for the rest of your run.
And to rub salt in the wound, a lot of fans think that the so-called Perfect Ending is actually a lot worse than the regular one, at which point you have to ask yourself - what the hell am I even doing here?
