Ubisoft's Live-Action Prequel Film Fills In The Division's Backstory

Okay, this is pretty awesome.

Ubisoft have released a live-action prequel to their upcoming shooter The Division, due out on the 8th of March, on Amazon Prime. The short film, entitled Agent Origins, is also available in four separate YouTube videos (one on each collaborators channel) and fills in some of the background about the events leading up to the start of the game. It was developed by Ubisoft in association with Corridor Digital, RocketJump, Director of by Left 4 Dead fan film Adrian Picardi and Devin "devinsupertramp" Graham, and although it is called Agent Origins, it's unclear if it actually contains characters from the main game itself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKK30kJWVnA The film portrays events in New York where "Black Friday" a devastating pandemic outbreak (not the deal-filled shopping extravaganza), manages to descend civilisation into chaos and thus trigger into action (by use of a fancy glowing watch) 'The Division', a group of agents living undercover lives. Production values look solid enough, but the acting may be a bit too amateur hour for many, or amateur half hour anyway. Nevertheless, it's nice to see Ubisoft doing something extra for fans for free, even if it is just to drum up excitement about the game. Find links to the other Youtube videos here. I work at a college as a janitor even though I feel like I'm smarter than most of the people who go there. Sometimes I see an equation written on a blackboard like half an equation and I just figure it out. Really though I'm a Journalism graduate so I like to write words and stuff. Getting back into it thanks to WhatCulture! Oh and my best friend is Ben Affleck...
