UFL will be released as a free to play game, allowing everyone who is interested to give it a go.

The new iteration of Pro Evolution Soccer is also set to use this model later this year when eFootball will be released as a free to play game. There have also been rumours that FIFA 23 will follow this idea next year, and it seems just a matter of time until the FIFA does just that. Free to play allows more people to try the game, with optional extras that players can buy to enhance their experience.

It is a model that more developers are trying across the industry, with huge success for titles such as Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone. Strikerz haven't confirmed what will be available to buy in-game - such as season passes, or packs like in FIFA - but a similar mode to Ultimate Team is a possibility.

For a brand new series in a popular area of gaming, being free to play is a great idea going up against established competitors. If people love the game they will keep playing, word will spread and it could be a huge success.
