Uncharted: 10 Game Elements That Should Be In The Film

7. The Memorable, Spectacle-Heavy Opening Sequence

The action-packed opening sequence has been a staple of the Uncharted franchise since Drake's Fortune, and its pirate assault, debuted all the way back in 2007.

Since then, we've had Uncharted 2's death-defying train climb, Uncharted 3's opening bar-room brawl, and Uncharted 4's intense, frenetic boat chase. Not only is each sequence particularly memorable and distinct, but they thrust you into the game from the word go, ensuring your attention is grabbed and held firm.

And, for many people, these are Uncharted's most memorable moments, and there's a reason for that. They're the first thing the game shows you - tons of action, a rip-roaring soundtrack, plenty of witty remarks from Drake - and all this sets you on a high that stays with you for the rest of the story.

Imagine the movie adopting a similar approach? It would almost be like a min-trailer for the rest of the film, right out the gate. The audience would be pumped and excited within minutes, and that's the best way to start the film off, especially with a new big-screen property not everyone will know.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
