Uncharted has always been predominantly lighthearted, with any overly dramatic moments sufficiently diffused with a healthy dose of humour. And yet, over the years, this has become its greatest weakness. There are simply no stakes anymore, with Nathan Drake and co. practically dancing their way through thousands of faceless goons with only a graze and a sprinkling of dirt to show for it. Sure, Cutter broke his leg in Uncharted 3, Schafer was murdered in Uncharted 2 and Nate has had his fair share of injuries, but it all feels just too easy. Uncharted 4 should feature a major, shocking death - preferably during the first act, early on - to set the tone and keep the player on edge. Naughty Dog shouldn't go too far and turn Uncharted into The Last Of Us, of course. Still, with the latter game's directors Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley at the helm and the admittedly dark E3 2014 trailer (pictured above), it's a fair assumption that Uncharted 4 will possess a lot more gravity in the story department. Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
