Uncharted 4: 11 Things We Hated

2. Rafe's Underwhelming Death

Uncharted 4 Crates

The game's final boss fight against Rafe may have been a glorified QTE sequence, but it sure was a pretty, cinematic and supremely entertaining way to see out the series.

A shame it is, then, that Rafe's death is actually relatively lame. Drake just cuts a rope which causes Rafe to be knocked out by a net full of pirate treasure.

Assuming the treasure didn't kill him (it could very well have), he's then burned alive inside the smoldering shell of the pirate ship.

If the treasure killed him, it's just kinda goofy and comical for an apparently threatening final boss, but if he burned, then that's just kinda macabre and disturbing, even considering some of the things I've seen in the franchise.

Something a little more definitive wouldn't have gone amiss (like stabbing him with the sword), even if it can't ruin what was a fantastically entertaining end boss.
