Uncharted 4 Reviews: 10 Spoiler-Free Reactions You Need To Know

1. Graphics Are The New Benchmark For The Medium

"In the category of photorealistic graphics, Uncharted 4 is now the champ" - Stephen Totilo, Kotaku
"Graphics so good, that the most common reason for dying is because you were just standing there gawping at the scenery" - David Jenkins, Metro

We knew this from moment one, but Naughty Dog have done it again. Firstly pioneering some revolutionary 3D processing tech to ensure Crash's many worlds streamed in without a hitch, then designing vastly superior cities and wastelands for Jak & Daxter and Uncharted, finally The Last of Us would reinvent the wheel when it came to designing interiors and telling stories through set design alone.

For A Thief's End, all of the above combine into one of the most confident and outstanding-looking games of all time. Environments are hyper-detailed extravaganzas of climbing points, pathways to explore and artistic influences to drink in.

Set-pieces are some of the most incredible and memorable of the entire quadrilogy, as Gamespot's Mike Mahardy confirms:

"Uncharted 4's set-pieces are the best in the series, and among the best-coordinated stunts in the medium [ ...] Just when you think Uncharted 4 might settle into a steady rhythm, it throws something new at you with high velocity and incredible power."

All of these points combine to reportedly form one of the finest blockbuster action games of all time, and the new spearhead of every future PS4 ad campaign. Nathan Drake is back for one last time, but in a way that'll make you sad to see him go.
