Uncharted 4 Reviews: 10 Spoiler-Free Reactions You Need To Know
2. Multiplayer Is Fantastic
"Multiplayer revels in more outrageous abilities than its predecessors, and it sings loudest when they converge at the same time. Temporarily harnessing supernatural abilities like teleportation is a lot of fun, as is watching your AI sidekick pin an enemy down as you cock your shotgun." - Lucy O'Brian, IGN
"Things like El Dorado, a huge gold statue that can be summoned to spit out lethal homing spirits. Or the power of the Djinn, a teleporting speed and melee boosting power up. Then there are the friendly combat NPCs like snipers and medics that can fight alongside you" - Leon Hurley, Gamesradar
Right upfront, it's worth noting that microtransactions exist within Uncharted 4, yet every last cosmetic item and unlockable can be obtained through sheer gameplay. This tends to be the main way developers have satisfied both sides of the money-grubbing coin, and Naughty Dog have gone one step further in pursuit of goodwill, pledging to support the multiplayer component with free maps and content for a year post-launch.
Personally I adored the beta - and I was one of those guys that NEVER played Uncharted multiplayer in parts 2 and 3 - so I can attest even at this early stage, that it holds together very well. The supernatural elements are great fun, the combat frenetic and encouraging of you to find new paths towards your enemies, and across the board its meld of platforming and cover shooting is a unique and enjoyable one.
