Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - 5 Things We Learned From E3

5. It Looks Great On The Playstation 4

Resisting the allure of Bill Gates' millions, Uncharted 4 will remain a Sony exclusive title and, on the basis of this teaser, be all the better for it. Informing us from the start that the "trailer was captured directly from a Playstation 4", this looks like it's going to be one incredibly pretty video game, redefining what we think we know about a system's hardware capabilities the same way Naughty Dog's games always do. Presumably then on the basis of that disclaimer, this brief scene of our hero coming to on a darkened beach and hurrying into a jungle was not a pre-rendered cut scene but a little narrative excerpt that was being rendered in real time, which makes it all the more impressive. The opening close up shot of Drake seen above is breathtaking in its detail, taking in every HD pore, crease and bruise on the rugged adventurer's face. Between the character models and the atmospheric surroundings, this could be the most immersive Uncharted to date, and it's all thanks to the PS4.
