Universal Studios Hollywood's Super Nintendo World Review - 7 Big Talking Points

2. Getting Into The Land

Over opening weekend, fans couldn't wait to get into the Mushroom Kingdom. Wait times for Mario Kart: Bowser's Challenge reached 150 minutes, giving you plenty of time to practice on your Nintendo Switch.

Unfortunately due to the small size of the land, this has meant that Universal Studios Hollywood has brought in a Virtual Queue system. This means that unless you make a reservation to enter the land you won't be able to enter.

Unlike other Virtual Queue systems, those who want admission into Super Nintendo World must be in the park in order to make a reservation. This means you don't need to get up super early to book your slot before you leave your hotel or home.

Virtual Queue systems have their pros and cons. Overall we don't think they are the best as they generally favour those who rope drop rather than others who arrive later.

If you find you get to the park and all the reservations are gone, make sure to regularly check the app. Universal Studios Hollywood do release more throughout the day so you might get lucky. We got lucky on the busy Monday after opening. We even bagged a slot that began just 15 minutes later. This is better than other Virtual Queues when once you don't get one straight away, you miss out completely.

It's likely that Virtual Queue for Super Nintendo World won't last forever. Unlike Universal's Orlando parks, Hollywood generally attracts more locals whilst visitors tend to come for a day trip. Once locals have visited the new land it's likely the demand for Super Nintendo World will ease allowing the Virtual Queue system to end.
