Warcraft 3 Reforged: Has Blizzard Finally Gone Too Far?

First being dazzled with a completely re-shot cutscene, fans began to suspect they were not going to be receiving a remake, but a complete redesign of the game, as later confirmed by producer Brian Stillwell. Stillwell announced that the game was going to be a complete overhaul, with changes to the story in line with World Of Warcraft, the balance of units and even altering the voice actors for beloved characters.
Tensions were mounting but fans remained optimistic, in many cases even excited as the redesigned visuals looked spectacular. However, no one could have predicted just how far from fan expectations the end result would be.
The game was both too similar and too different from the classic game - in both cases in the worst possible ways. Immediately fans noticed that the beautifully remade cutscenes shown at Blizzcon that highlighted more cinematic camera angles were gone, instead replaced with simple reconstructions of the original in-game animations.
This may not have been an issue with fans who wanted the game to remain faithful to the original (the obvious false advertisement aside), as many were hoping to receive simply an updated version of the game they already loved. Unfortunately, this also turned out to have not been the case, as fans digging through the online interface found a significant reduction in the number of features available to them...
