Warhammer 9th Edition: Everything You Need To Know

9. Terrain Means More Than A +1 To Your Armour Save

Another complaint of 8th edition game was its over simplified certain aspects of the game.

There was a definite feel amongst the community that the pendulum swung too far in the direction of simple. This led to there only being very minimal special rules for terrain which sometimes took away from the overall feel and enjoyment of the game.

With the release of 9th edition, they have laid out a much more comprehensive set of rules for our hills and bunkers.

At the start of the battle when you are setting up the terrain there is now an additional step to take. Discussing with your opponent was terrain rules to apply and to what.

The core book has loads of examples of what to apply and where and it makes the battlefield feel more alive. No longer is difficult ground reserved for craters and hills no longer magically protect you from bullets when you are stood on top of them.
