With the exception of the horse tech in Red Dead Redemption and the cardboard motorcycle in Death Stranding, for the most part these pre-vis scenes have mostly covered dialogue scenes, but that all changes with Marvel's Spider-Man.

As you can imagine, it's a little more complicated to capture the high-flying feats of a human spider via motion capture, but the team at Sony and Insomniac pulled out all the stops to make sure the old web head's movements not only looked spectacular, but appeared believable, weighty and realistic.

What's particularly interesting is hearing the devs talk about wanting to capture the action in a way that mimicked comic-book panels, something which they experimented with extensively in pre-production to make it look natural in the finished product.
