GTA 5 earned a lot of praise for the way it seamlessly handled playing as three main protagonists. Michael, Franklin and Trevor all had different sh*t going on at different times, and that made switching between them a humble joy. Could it be better though? You're darn right it could.
Rockstar brains have surely been working overtime to come up with tweaks that'd make the multi-protag thing work in GTA 6. They don't actually need to go overboard with improvements. A few refinements, like having each character be able to approach the same mission in different ways, would be enough.
Play back GTA 5 in 2022 and you'll wonder why switching between characters on the fly hasn't become a trend in more open world games. It feeds variety, and ensures the player gets to see the game's world through different eyes any time they like.
That's a major plus.
