Why Elder Scrolls Will Always Be Better Than Fallout

3. Factions

Elder Scroll Fallout
Bethesda

Even the factions offer a more personalised standard in this sense. In Skyrim there’s the Thieves Guild for outcasts, Dark Brotherhood for cultists, the Companions for battling, and College of Winterhold for knowledge.

Fallout’s factions are far more set in affecting the environment rather than the individual - the Minutemen and the Brotherhood of Steel don’t live up to the personal variety that TES can offer, instead are reflections of the necessity of the world that Fallout has created. It needs people to rebuild and protect, rather than having people that want to initiate their own uprising.

That you have the ludicrously fun choice to become a vampire or a werewolf is just even more testament to The Elder Scrolls' intimate relationship with player experience over besting worldly hardships.

There's just a true creativity and freedom to the game that's not replicated in the same way outside of this series.
