Wii U: 9 Hotly Anticipated Games That Actually Make It Worth Buying

2. Super Mario Maker

Super Mario Maker is going to do something rather funny when it hits the shelves; it's going to make people realise that level design is no walk in the park. It's a testament to the brilliance of Shigeru Miyamoto's inner-thoughts that he's able to make every single side-scrolling Mario title look so simple in design. No guys, cramming as many power-ups, obstacles and enemies into a stage does not a good level designer make. Those kinds of things are inevitably what most people are going to do though, purely because making a level filled to the brim with just Goombas is something you'd never actually see the developers do. But that's exactly what Nintendo want you to do with Super Mario Maker. They want you to be experimental, silly and utterly ridiculous with your creations. Frankly, it's a wonder why the Big N didn't think of such a game sooner. The astronomical success of games like LittleBigPlanet and Minecraft are more than enough proof that gamers love to create and share their own creations - however bonkers they may be.
