3. Star Fox
Although main protagonist Fox McCloud is a regular cast member in the Smash Bros. series it has been some time since he featured in his own game. The most recent Star Fox game was 2011s Star Fox 64 3D, a remake of the Nintendo 64 game. Other than this, you have to go back to 2006 to find a new entry into the franchise, making Star Fox a franchise that seems to have been somewhat left behind by Nintendo. However, theres no better time than the launch of a new console to breathe life into an ailing series. The gameplay, which revolves around flying a fighter ship along a fixed path, shooting enemies and completing objectives along the way, is one of the more unique things about the Star Fox games, meaning that a new game would offer some variety to Wii U owners. The tablet-based control system would suit a Star Fox game perfectly the tablet screen could show the interior of the cockpit, complete with HUD, whilst the main action would appear on the TV screen. The return of co-op and multiplayer modes would ensure that a Star Fox game offers the social and family-orientated features that have come to be expected of Nintendo, and that have made its games so successful.
