The Witcher 3: 8 Reasons It's The Game Of E3

7. The New Skyrim?

Although many of us are still playing Bethesda's ridiculously awesome open-world fantasy epic, it's getting a bit old now. With another Elder Scrolls not on the horizon for a few years, The Witcher 3 seems like it's going to be filling that void easy with its open world gameplay. This marks a series first for the franchise, which until now was an RPG presented more linearly. By deciding to open up the world and give gamers the freedom to explore, the Witcher III may well end up being one of the best realised and expansive open worlds to date. The developers have after all went on record saying that there's hundreds of hours in the game, which if going off what we've seen is a credible claim. Plus it seems to be channeling the spirit of Skyrim through its very veins, albeit in a much more polished fashion. It genuinely excited us when the developers playing the game told us that you could literally wander as far as the eye could see and beyond. It brought back our itch to explore like in Skyrim and we can't wait to completely wander off and see what's up the top of those mountains that were in the distance.
