WWE 13: 10 Disappointing Attitude Era Moments We Don't Want To Revisit

2. Please, Don't Try This At Home

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ch2QltZZ7DU I, like many other wrestling fan, do get annoyed when the WWE use the 'Please, Don't Try This' adverts in the middle of every broadcast, and at the start of any DVD. The company wants to ensure that they do everything possible to separate themselves from any action a fan might mimic at home. But, it is important that fan's realise that the superstars do risk their lives and their health every time they step inside those ropes, and this incident illustrates that point better than most. Darren Drozdov debuted in the WWE in 1998, and was initially teamed with the Legion of Doom. Given Drozdov's ability to regurgitate on demand, he was given the ring name Puke, which was already a poor way to begin your career. He was a prominent part of the Hawk titantron fall, and after costing himself and Animal a tag team victory against the Headbangers, he was kicked out of the group. Drozdov began to come into his own as a heel wrestler, and led a stable of wrestlers that shared his bizarre lifestyle, such as Prince Albert. The incident in question though, occurred on one of the first ever Smackdown's in October 1999, in a match between Droz and D'Lo Brown. The match should have been your standard short affair, however that turned out to be far from the case. During the match, a number of unfortunate circumstances and mistakes by both wrestlers led to Brown botching a running powerbomb on Droz, which resulted in him still being confined to a wheelchair. In reality, it could have been much worse. A burgeoning career was taken away in a few seconds, and displayed why some of the events of the Attitude Era were very serious indeed. Kayfabe injury angles are one thing, but seeing a career end in such horrible circumstances should not ever be involved in WWE 13.
