WWE 13: 10 Matches We Want To Play

8. The Rock Vs Triple H €“ Summerslam €˜98

Stone Cold, The Undertaker, Kane and Mankind were the only main eventers in the summer of €™98. It is strange to think that there was such a lack of top talent at the time, but motions were put in place to change that. Triple H and The Rock were the two most impressive young talents that the WWF had to offer; the charismatic leader of the Nation and the rebellious member of DX. The pair battled over the Intercontinental Championship and following a series of close matches at previous PPVs the two went head-to-head one last time at Summerslam. It was an exceptional ladder match that almost stole the show, but it did prove that these two were ready for the top. Triple H was the victor on the night as he left with The Great One€™s gold. As the outcome of the match was heavily influenced by Chyna it will be interesting to see whether THQ have decided to change the events. Cutscenes showing Austin being attacked by DX display some changes €“ New Age Outlaws and X-Pac weren€™t in DX at the same time as Shawn Michaels €“ so perhaps another member may take her role.
