WWE 2K Battlegrounds Review: 4 Ups & 4 Downs

Ups...

4. Unique Presentation

WWE 2K Battlegrounds
WWE/2K

2K Battlegrounds' aesthetic grabbed gamers' attention from the first trailer and aside from a handful of dodgy character models, it looks great.

This is a bright, colourful, and vibrant cartoon world. Wrestlers look more like action figures than realistic human models, which is in line with the game's general approach. Their proportions are all over the place, and that's a good thing: everybody looks unique and distinct. Also, you can set your fists on fire with the flick of a button. That rules.

Battlegrounds' levels are just as bold. Even the basic Raw arena looks more interesting than what you'd usually expect from a WWE game, though the swamps, subway tunnels, and more are were Battlegrounds really shines.

Much thought has clearly gone into crafting this world, and while some of the characters need fine-tuning, how this game looks is one of its biggest selling points.
