3. Shawn Michaels
Modern Shawn Michaels ended the career of Ric Flair, put on 5 star matches at WrestleMania with the likes of Chris Jericho and The Undertaker in his final WrestleMania appearances. But he was afforded this opportunity because the end of retro Shawn Michaels was when he became a born-again Christian. In the Attitude Era, the Heart Break Kid was no stranger to partying, and it was through his repentance that he bought himself a new lease on life. If, inside the mind of Shawn Michaels, his retro self metaphorically defeated what would-be Christian Shawn Michaels, there is a chance that the partying and drug use would have diminished his career much faster and he would never have had a return to do the aforementioned statements involving Ric Flair and Chris Jericho. Shawn Michaels has turned his life around and is an inspiration to anybody seeking guidance going down a dark road and definitely deserves to be highlighted in this game, but the Heart Break Kid was by some accounts an "awful" person during this time period and as such the game could have been better off using this slot to insert a better role-model type wrestler, such as Bruno Sammartino, outspoken against the use of drugs and steroids after his era, beginning in 1980.
