2. The Undertaker (Retro)
I understand that they are celebrating 30 years of WrestleMania with this game and you can't have 30 years of WrestleMania unless you include the infancy of The Undertaker. And many will say that given the chance to use three slots for different variations of Undertaker, that American Bad-Ass Undertaker or Ministry Undertaker might be better off shelved, but here is why the game needs them. Undertaker, in his many forms, has dotted every WWE video game since his inception. There is not much more that one can say that hasn't already been said about The Undertaker. If I'm eliminating ten wrestlers from this video game, retro Undertaker would be one of them because, and with all due respect, we have glamorized him enough through many video games, both as the current "Dead Man" and his retro self. However, his American Bad Ass gimmick was a risk for Undertaker to jump out of the mold and modernize his Undertaker name, essentially becoming his WCW gimmick"Mean" Mark Callous on a motorcycle. This was a risky but necessary move in order to evolve with the new century and ever-changing WWE. 8 months before he became the American Bad-Ass he was last seen as his Ministry of Darkness incarnation, a rad evil gothic version of Undertaker that eventually forged an alliance with the most evil man of all, Vince McMahon. Through all this, Undertaker has managed to stay relevant and consistent to the WWE for 21 years and a big reason he was able to do this without relying on the same (retro) image comes from his time spent during his Ministry/American Bad-Ass which is why this Undertaker is an awful version we don't need.
