5. Backstage Areas That Don't Suck
The backstage brawls have been in desperate need of an overhaul for years. WWE 2K14 dished up the exact same backstage areas as last year, while grapples against an opponent leaning against a car in the car park brawl are limited to just two moves shoulder charging them against the bonnet and slamming the cars hood against them, making this bout very boring, very quickly. Additionally, theres little-to-no audio, no commentary, and parts of the backstage area will only morph if your opponent is in close proximity, limiting you to how much of the area you can explore. Backstage brawls used to be good WWE Here Comes The Pain arguably had the best one, allowing you to fight it out in Times Square, throw snowballs at people and attack rivals with a trolley. Subsequent games in the series also managed to get the car park brawl and other backstage matches spot on as well, but unfortunately, somewhere along the way, things went badly wrong.
