WWE 2K15: 10 Alternatives You Need To Check Out

8. Fire Pro Wrestling Returns - PS2/PS3

If you like quirky games in general, this is right up your alley. If you have a PS3, it is available on PSN. This isn't available on the PS4's store unfortunately. Don't be put off by the 2D graphics as the gameplay defies any notion that this title is aged. Football fans who played the Pro Evolution Soccer titles during their peak will fall in love with Fire Pro. Like Pro Evo, FPWR is a Japanese title that has side-stepped licensing laws and doesn't use the wrestlers' official names, which makes for a whole load of fun. For example, 'Kerry Texan' is meant to be Terry Funk while Sting is known as 'Spike' and Kevin Nash is known as 'Gush'. The game has 327 people on, with many of them Japanese stars and even a few MMA stars like Royce Gracie and Wanderlei Silva chucked in. The creation suite on WWE 2K15 is arguably the worst facet of the game. Well, Fire Pro makes up for this, and then some. On top of the 327 playable characters on the game, you can create no less than 500 more. Wow. The game also has 1,649 moves on it so if you're favourite superstar isn' there, log onto a forum and find out how to create him/her to perfection. Their finishing move will be on the game somewhere. Fantasy Booker Mode is sensational. Gamers put themselves in the shoes of Vince McMahon et al and manage operating costs etc with the aim of pleasing the fans. You manage a set of promotions including, Michinoku Pro, Big Japan Pro Wrestling, Dynamic Dream Team and Osaka Pro. You're given a rating based on crowd response and profit. Like the old death matches that have become extinct from mainstream wrestling? Fear not, Fire Pro has plenty of them with brutality at a premium. Despite its appearance, the gameplay is arguably more realistic than 2K15 with chain wrestling and seamless routines a priority.
