Wrestling games have always been prone to having lots of glitches, considering they involve more complex movement and interactions than the vast majority of games. One overwhelming issue has been collision detection: Yuke's have improved it a little over recent years, but it's still not where it should be, resulting in physics that are floaty and unrealistic from time to time. The fact that contemporary games generally aren't QA-tested very much due to the ability to release a patch certainly doesn't help the glitchiness of the last few WWE games, and though the results can be perversely hilarious for a while, they eventually just become frustrating. This is a franchise sorely in need of a new engine, and 2K may well have the answer with their much-praised "Eco Motion" engine used for NBA 2K14. It not only allows for more photo-realistic and believable facial expressions, but it adds weight to the characters, and makes their actions have more of a palpable impact. If this could be applied to the WWE world, then it could be revolutionary.
