2. Better Career Mode

WWE.comThis is another mode that has been heavily rumored, but it absolutely
has to be included, as it seems to be the thing topping most people's lists of what they want to see in this year's edition of the game. With WWE focusing so heavily on NXT now, doesn't it just make sense to have NXT play a big role in 2K15? You could either take a current NXT worker and build him or her up, or you could create your own wrestler, have them debut in NXT and begin their long journey to the main event of WrestleMania. If you're going to "become a WWE Superstar", I see no reason why you shouldn't be following in the same career arc as the people who actually become WWE Superstars, going from the bottom of their developmental promotion, and trying to reach the top of the wrestling world altogether. Far too often in wrestling games, you'll take your "no-name" CAW and he'll debut in a big storyline on Raw. Within a month or two, your character is reaching the main event. There's no realism. It doesn't make any sense. In this mode, you could take, say, Sami Zayn and build him up to the NXT Title picture. After a while, an authority figure like Triple H or Stephanie McMahon could come to you backstage and tell you that you're being called up to the main roster. You might keep your current gimmick/character, and you might not, just like in real life. You might stay face/heel, and you might not, just like in real life. Either way, you're taking the next step in your journey. Then you begin your quest to the WWE World Title in what will end up being a multiple-year story arc, where it doesn't just end with your "WrestleMania Moment" and then you essentially have to start all over again. Now, you'd be able to compete in WrestleMania 31, then go on to WrestleMania 32, WrestleMania 33, and so forth. It's all about replay value, and getting your gamers to buy the game and continue playing it for weeks and months at a time, and not just for a week or so before they trade it in for credit at somewhere like GameStop. Have Sami Zayn debut on Raw, get into a midcard feud, and just go from there. As you win matches, you gain a fan following, and your push increases, until you're at the point where you're getting title shots and rubbing shoulders with more established names. The key word, once again, is realism.
