WWE 2K16: 10 Awesome Old Features That Must Return

2. Ability To Go To Different Areas During Matches

99% of matches in WWE 2K15 will never leave the ringside area. In fact, a lot of bouts will barely even leave the ring, unless they're held under 'Extreme Rules' or the count out system is turned off. One aspect of previous WWE titles, such as Here Comes The Pain and even Smackdown 2: Know Your Role, was the ability to visit different areas, not only around ringside but also backstage. 'Backstage Brawls' are available in 2K15, but the areas on offer are heavily restricted, thus largely negating the point altogether and never really enticing people to get creative when looking for new ways to cause damage to an opponent. In Here Comes The Day, longtime gamers will remember large, expansive areas which allowed for a lot of different opportunities, such as riding a motorcycle, forklift and even cars in some cases! Wrestlers could be thrown off all manner of ledges, and high-risk moves could be attempted from the top of flat-bed trucks and other assorted objects, making the overall experience more fun, especially when played with friends. Beforehand, those little flashing blue/yellow arrows which signified a change of area offered so much, allowing people to explore and laugh as they found new places to cause carnage. That kind of thing needs to be reintroduced to WWE games in 2K16.
