WWE 2K16: 15 Legends Who Could Be The Flagship Star

2. The Rock

Some would argue that there€™s an element of diminishing returns to Dwayne €˜The Rock€™ Johnson€™s addition to the main roster a couple of years ago as the most occasional of part time, special events superstars. His twice-in-a-lifetime Wrestlemania programme with John Cena in 2012 and 2013 wasn€™t as creatively satisfying a return as many hoped. Since then, it€™s been a few non-wrestling guest appearances here and there: hardly anything to set the world on fire. Well, the rumour is that this year€™s confrontation between Rock and Triple H at Wrestlemania Play was to set up a match at next year€™s Wrestlemania Star (they really need to go back to numbering the Wrestlemania event). Let€™s not forget, Johnson is also the only major wrestling household name to cross over into mainstream success outside of the professional wrestling business. He was the top grossing Hollywood star of 2013, and since his involvement with the Fast & Furious franchise, the films have become Universal€™s biggest of all time. This year€™s Furious 7 has already become the fifth biggest movie of all time, nearly doubling the previous installment€™s worldwide box office of $788 million€ and it€™s only been out for a few weeks. Luring The Rock back in to headline Wrestlemania at the height of his popularity is definitely Best For Business, and what better way to amp up the hype for a 2016 return to their classic rivalry than to name the Most Electrifying Man In All Entertainment the flagship star of WWE 2K16?
