WWE 2K16: 15 Legends Who Could Be The Flagship Star

13. Jake 'The Snake' Roberts

The real life Aurelian Smith Jnr.€™s rebirth in recent years following a final successful drug rehabilitation and rebuilding of his failing health has been nothing short of miraculous. Having finally conquered his demons, the man who brought wrestling the DDT and who helped make the career of €˜Stone Cold€™ Steve Austin was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014, on the same class as the Ultimate Warrior. Since then however, one of the sharpest and most talented wrestling brains in the history of the business has been largely ignored by the WWE. That the overwhelmingly charismatic Roberts hasn€™t been tapped to manage a promising but inarticulate young talent €“ or, even better, to run a heel faction €“ is a criminal waste, and something that the company could easily put right: by introducing him as the new face of the Authority, for example. After all, RAW hasn€™t had a General Manager for some time, and if John Laurinaitis can get the job, Jake €˜The Snake€™ Roberts should be a no-brainer. That would segue perfectly into the promotion of Roberts as the 2016 game€™s featured exclusive downloadable content €“ perhaps with the 1986 version of Jake €˜The Snake€™, who was essentially the fan favourite heel that €˜Stone Cold€™ became a decade later, and who brought theatrics to the squared circle with his pet python Damien and his affiliation with rock legend Alice Cooper at Wrestlemania III. With his drug problems firmly in the past, Roberts has gone from being a poisoned chalice to something more like the Holy Grail: the poster boy for the power of positivity and second, third and fourth chances, he€™d be an excellent choice to represent the brand.
